For some of us in whom our waist measurements are only slightly greater (if at all) than our hip measurements it not only is possible but actually tends to occur more frequently than would be ideal. Unless it falls off on its own (which sometimes happens after I release my belt) i undo the straps each time, otherwise I fear that the waist may be stretched farther than I already am suffering with on a couple of marginally big kilts.
