    Looking for a buckle

I was thinking of making my own belt and was looking for a simple buckle

I am looking for a 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" stainless or nickel plated steel single prong roller buckle

The largest "single prong" I can find is 2", anything larger is a "double prong" (not that there is anything wrong with the double prong - just not what I want)

I know they exist - I have seen them!!!

    I cannot locate a source.

    Anyone???

I've got to ask, and I'm looking at a two pronger now, why could you not remove one of the prongs on a two prong buckle and use it as a single prong buckle?

It's just that I was thinking about doing that at some point, and the prongs on the buckles I have can be removed by bending the loop open that goes around the frame of the buckle.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    Ted - You're a genius!....Maybe

The source I was looking at suppled both single and double prong.

    http://eleathersupply.com/buckles.shtml

The single prong buckle seem to have "stops" welded on either side to center the prong

The "stops" on the double prong only appear to be on one side (outside) - allowing movement to the center.

So, I assume you could remove one and center the other.

    Thanks Ted!

    Yes, I agree!

I was not concerned about holding it in place. I was concerned that a "stop" would not allow me to center the one I left on.

The funny thing is the two buckles I'm looking at are on the Lowes work belts, and they don't have any stops or anything like that, so I wasn't even thinking of it.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Yep, he's got 'um. Thanks for pointing that out Wizard.

He's got a bunch of buckles there: neat.
