16-17 July in Dublin, Ireland. Probably one day touring the city and the second on a day trip. Not sure where - I'm leaving that decision to the wife.
18 July. Arrive in Edinburgh. Drive to Inverness. Sightseeing option along the way still be developed.
19 July. Culloden for me, golfing for the wife. Enjoying Inverness the rest of the time.
20 July. Ft William (West Highland Museum) and Glencoe.
21 July. A short hike in Glencoe in the morning, and drive to Hawick in the afternoon. Clan Elliot officer's dinner in Newcastleton.
22-23 July. Elliot Gathering in Newcastleton. Various activities planned, but hope to work in some time to meet with Cessna152towser.
24 July. Reiver's Trail and drive to Edinburgh.
25-26 July. Gathering 2009. Saturday spent at the Games at Holyrood (and meeting the Rabble in attendence), and Sunday doing a bit of catch-up sightseeing for those things I missed in 2006.
27 July. Fly home.

Sir William,
I am going to be in Inverness during the same time period. Hopefully we'll bump into each other there!
They are having highland games in Inverness on July 18-19 as well, I'm planning to check those out.

Sorry - I missed this for some reason.
We'll be arriving in Inverness late Saturday and plan to spend Sunday sightseeing. I knew about the Games but doubt we'll attend. The wife isn't into them much anymore and we're going to be attending the Gathering a week later. Besides, I want to get out to Culloden when I barely saw when I was there (on a coach trip) in 2006 (and maybe Fort George), and she wants to play golf.
Perhaps we can have dinner or meet at Hootenany for drinks (though with the Games on, it might be a wee bit crowded).
