    I hadn't heard of this rule - most would think that matching colour of sporran with footwear would be the norm but this isn't actually to do with the time of day.

    And few would think of matching a hairy/furry sporran with hairy/furry footwear!

    You will find this isn't necessarily true, Colonel MacNeal. Many Highland gentlemen wear black shoes with the kilt, with brown sporrans.

    And I would add my voice to those recommending a brown day sporran from Xmarks' original sporran maker, Freelander Sporrans.

    I'm not a fashion setter,nor do I try to swim up stream, but personally I

    don't care for BROWN on me person. Never have, so everything I have is

    BLACK. Does that make me a Rogue or somethin of the sort?
