those are "practice pipes" played with a Gibson Practice chanter I plan on makeing a set to plug into my GHB bag.
the "drone reeds" are $15
the whole set up is $185
copper tubing and rubber stoppers that fit in my stocks at the hardware store about $10
$35 VS $185......Hmmmmm
lol yeah thats me and vinnie playing "blister in the sun" always a crowd pleaser!
you know the name of the first tune escapes me right now....I'll find out and post it
thanks for the good comments

Do you have instructions for this? I'd really like to do that myself.
From what I can tell, you're using a single copper tube as the drone, run through a rubber stopper, and plugged into your GHB stocks and bag?
What kind of reeds?

what I'm playing are an actual set of practice pipes http://www.kilberry.com/kilberry2_28.html but when I make my own I'll buy a set of replacement drone reeds, and buy the copper tubing to match the Dia. of the reeds( they slide over the tube) and buy a rubber stopper, drill a hole, slide the tube through and yer done! of course you'll also have to buy a slightly larger Dia. tube so you can tune it.
parts list
2 copper/brass tubes in one Dia. ( i dont know the Dia. right now)
2 copper/brass tubes in the next size up for tuning capabilities
teflon tape so it will be a snug fit between the two tubes
3 rubber stoppers for stocks
2 replacement drone reeds
all (except the reeds) can be found @ the hardware store ont he cheap

you know I've never written the music down lol I learned it by ear! I'll have to make time to do that.
right now I'm figuring out Rick Astley's "never gonna give you up"
someone requested it on Paddy's day and I want to be able to "rick roll" people LoL

Very nice! I should check in more often. How long have you been at it? I have to say you were worth every dime you hauled in. Keep it up, so many pubs, so little time.

I've been playing for about 9 years, I'd probably be better then I am if I had more formal instruction....I'm about 90% self taught. and learn on the fly. and to this day I STILL can't read sheet music while I play.
I can look at it and tell you "a, b, d gracenote ect." and if someone tells me to play XXX notes i can play them .....but I can't "sight read" music
i get dislexia when it comes to that.
