I will have to add a 2 inch waist band. Here in Germany nearly nobody will notice it, but I know it...

good thing the tartan is symmetric so it doesn't matter whether you cut out your extra piece for the waistband in the warp or weft direction from your remnants, as the tartan lines can still be aligned, at least on the aprons (not the fell).

The warp and the weft may come out to the same sett length but that is not always the case. Most of the time when the warp is released, it makes rectangles instead of squares.

Now that you told us about it, maybe I´ll be that nearly nobody ( just in case you´ll visit the Highland Games Xanten in June)

Sorry, no, I won´t be in Xanten. But I will wear it for my eldest daughters baptism in three weeks.
