			Hamish Macbeth

While recuperating from recent knee surgery, I had the opportunity to watch a BBC series about "Hamish Macbeth". Set in a small Highland town of Lochdubh, Hamish is the Comstable who helps the town folks out. It is a pleasant series and am going to get the next season from our local library. Robert Carlisle is pretty good as the title character.Nulty

					Hi McNulty,
Thanks for the reminder. We watched all three series here as a family together. It was pretty good to be able to entertain Margaret, me and our 12 year old son. There aren't many television shows I would want to watch again, but Hamish Macbeth is definitely one of them.

 Regards

 Chas

IMHO, the books are even more delightful than the series. MC Beaton is the author. They are quick reads (mind candy) and fun.

I'll have to get a hold of some of the books, but the scenes with the kilties are the best. It seems like every episode has someone or a buch of the locals in kilts. I't nice to see the different tartans being used. Great show.Nulty

Agreed on the quality of the show. Too bad they only made three seasons. The characters and the fellows in kilts always made it even better.

As for the books, I agree that they are even better. I've read all the ones I could find in local book stores, and each had its share of charming characters, strange folks, and interesting plot twists. . . .Kind of like real life in a small town.

Glad to hear that someone else enjoyed the series. They took it off BBC about the time I found it.

I've seen all the series available on Netflix and I've read most of the books. It is a delightful little treasure to be sure.
