Also, please remember that I'm new to the whole kilt and tartan thing, and that this skirt was made by J.crew who most likely knows less than I do about kilts and tartans and tartan skirts.

Ali,
I think that the skirt, the top, and the lady wearing them look lovely. :-)
I don't think the boots are doing it for me, though. I don't think it's you or the outfit. I just don't think I like that style boot.
I think the skirt and shirt with a nice pair of black Mary Janes or some similar style of shoe would look great, though.
And that really is a cute top.

I had no idea what Mary Janes are (me thinks Matt may know a little too much about women's shoes...just sayin')

Very nice Ali. You wear it very well.
Cheers!

Ali, I like the look (including the boots.)
Just my two cents.

Ali, great look. I think the top and tartan skirt are spot on. As Matt said perhapse different shoes, but the boots certainly do look comfortable. Perhapse black shoes with knee socks for the warmth? At any rate you do look very nice, your husband is a luckier man than he realizes.
