Were the arms and tartan on the groom's cake edible transfers? If so, the rest of us could do something similar. Most good-sized grocery store bakeries have the software and printers to reproduce images from a .jpg file. It's printed on an edible paper, a lot like rice paper, which "dissolves" into the icing.
Congrats on the wedding and marriage.
Thanks piperdbh. The entire cake was edible... though I've had experiences with edible transfers from grocery store bakeries and they always seemed a tad tough. not nearly as tough as say, fondant. but this one was as smooth as icing. maybe technology has advanced enough over the past couple years, but i was thoroughly impressed. Just to give a plug to the bakery that did it... Ketchie Creek in Mocksville, NC
