Incidentally, a couple of piping friends helped me brew some beer last weekend, an amber ale the kit makers called Phat Tyre, an homage I believe to Fat Tire.
Should be ready for July 4 festivities
Couldn't have been better, brewing beer, playing pipes and drinking some beer they had made earlier.
Good day, indeed.

A day well spent indeed int: What % alcohol do you expect your brew to finish at? My last batch was a nice Honey Brown ale with 7%, very nice with a full pound of honey to it. Made with pipes in the background (on CD though) and kilted throughout! Some things were just meant to go together.

I'm expecting somewhere in the 6% range. As long as it tastes good I'll be happy. I'm hoping that maybe this will become a good hobby for me, but, it is pretty exacting and detailed.
For my next batch I'll probably do a stout...mmmm
cheers.

the new law should take effect in about a month, 60 days after the governor signed the law, I think.
In the mean time I'll make due with Yuengling, which has finally decided to distribute in WV.

Yea, heard people praising Yuengling, so I bought a 6 pack of Black and Tan the other night. Not bad, really smooth. Wonder what took 'em so long to distrubute in WV since they've been around since the 1800's. Never even heard of 'em tell recently.

Get out of Buckhannon, much! Just kidding, I lived in PA for a couple of years, that's where I was first introduced to it. Seen it in SC, OH, etc.
It's been around, but they said until recently they didn't have a market in WV.
You should try the traditional lager, it's good as well.
