I had thought that when the young princes went into the military one of them should have joined The Royal Regiment of Scotland. It is a shame that his sons don't wear the kilt which HRH wears so well.
Anyone know how to sigh up for his cast off outfits

I don't think there is a tradition of Princes of the Blood Royal "joining" Highland regiments. In fact, I cannot think of one prince in the past 100 years who has done so, although the present Duke of Kent served in the Royal Scots Greys. Certainly they have served as colonels of Highland regiments, but as the Navy is the senior service, and the Brigade of Guards and Household Cavalry are likewise senior, I really don't think a commission in a Highland regiment was ever considered.

Sir Chris Hoy the triple Olympic cycling champion at Beijing collected his knighthood today from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

He was kilted, unfortunately Charles was not - wearing a Guards uniform I think.
