Stewart-Walker Pinning of the Tartan Ceremony...

Has anyone seen a "traditional" pinning of tartan?
Sorry for such a late reply, but there is a piccy of my wife's pinning at our wedding back in December in the thread I posted regarding such (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...448/index.html). Can't say it was "traditional" cause I've never seen one either. But if it gives you some groundwork to go on, I had my mom pin a swatch size piece of MacGregor (hunting) tartan on my new bride with her Luckenbooth broach, which is what I gave her for our engagement. I would have used a full on sash, but we couldn't find one in the "Hunting" aka MacGregor of Cardney to match my kilt. Instead I ordered a hunting Macgregor tartan swatch from Matt at the Tartan Museum. Probably should've just gone with the Red (modern colours) MacGregor in a Sash... hindsight, eh?
I left it to my Mom the welcome of my new bride into the family/clan. Here's a so-so piccy of the event. My dad is at the right announcing for the guests the ceremony. It was a nice way for the family to be involved in the event.

Here's a close-up taken by the photographers, for what it's worth...

Pour1Malt sent me a GREAT script (which I would be happy to forward) that I used for ideas for my own wedding script. We didn't quite have enough guests versed in Scottish tradition/history to carry off the fun things he did, but it was a good time, and a very special occasion none the less. Hope yours is, too.
Aye,
Wesley

I'd appreciate it very much.
