Respectfully, though, but because I am an American with Scottish heritage is the reason why I do try to follow tradition and convention regarding Highland attire. For me (and me alone), it shows respect. That's not condemning either of you, just offering a different point-of-view.
The waistcoat looks grand, and I agree with Rathdown's comments 100%.
