...I suppose masses of tourists do make everyday life a hassle at times.

I live in the suburbs of Washington, DC and we experience the same problems as expressed elsewhere for Edinburgh and Scotland. We get Mr and Mrs Smith from Podunk, Middle America (where I grew up) as well as tourists from every country in the world. You learn to live with it though you may not like it. And, I must admit, most of them are pretty nice folks for the most part, though they unintentially and often unknowingly create problems for the locals, so the Scots have my sympathy - especially when I'm playing tourist in their neighborhood.

a certain ex-Scottish Government have caused the main problems in Edinburgh. It's also ashame that tourists will have to see the city's streets ripped to shreads

I'm also away on Wednesday.

Beowulf67 and I will meet up initially in Inverness on Saturday. If any other XMTS will be in the area, we plan to meet up at Hootananny at 8pm.

Should be able to meet at Talisker Tent at 2pm on Saturday 25/7 and hopefully Castle Bar at 7pm. Sunday don't have a ticket for that day, only Saturday but hope to be around although I want to do the tour of Edinburgh's underground city and the haunted Mary King's Close on Sunday

Great that I stay just over 40 miles from my capital city and i want to spend a day touring it. We are staying in Edinburgh on Friday and Saturday night and looking forward to meeting X- markers
