    OK. Now you come to mention it and on closer inspection, the pleating is a bit of a mish-mash but I think the 5 red stripes flanked by the yellow/white stripes down the centre of the back of the kilt makes for an interesting effect and draws your eye away from the fact the rest of the pleating is a bit random... The yellow/white every 5th pleat also helps to balance it out. It'll do for down the pub.

    I agree... it's probably completely random pleating (we'd have to order another to see for sure) but, I think it somewhat artistic nonetheless: kinda like a fractal or some such other 'natural' phenomena observed by chance. A nice looking kilt!
