    Don't forget PA!
We do have one of the better state tartans (although I may be a bit biased about that )

Tony, I would offer one piece of advice and it is this - find a connection to the tartan you choose. You can stretch the truth and twist it; you can be inventive and exaggerate, but what ever you do find that connection. One day someone will ask you why you are wearing 'that' tartan and you are going to have to look them in the eye and tell them. Even a very tenuous link is better than saying 'I just love the colours'. That would make you sound frivolous and foolish; a connection makes you sound serious and strong minded.

    Just a thought.

    Regards

    Chas

Isle of Skye is indeed beautiful, but I don't wear it, not have any connection to that island.

Gosh that is an interesting comment. I have not ever thought that the Isle of Skye tartan, a fashion tartan, would give the slant that you have put on it. Still, each to their own.

Yes we do! (PA is my home state)
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

One of my favorite fashion tartans is Monarch of the Glen by House of Edgar. I just throw it out there as a choice. That being said...

...I agree with Chas; whatever tartan you choose, have a reason/connection to the tartan. Maybe you've visited some place in Scotland and fell in love with it and you choose that tartan. Fine, but have some emotional connection to the tartan. Lots and lots of people will ask, "Why that tartan?"
