Always to be some question where Frugal Corner's kilts are concerned. I know that they are not cotton and I know that they are not wool; I have four of them: Black Stewart, Hunting Stewart, Scotish national, and Irish Green. They are polyviscose or whatever that is; the heft of the material is substantial, the pleating is very well done, they press back up very nicely after an all day Weding or Funeral event and they show themselves quite nicely in the evening for formal wear occasions. The hems are selvidge and substantial; the belting is substantial though not finished, cosmetically. Orders to be sure can some times take a bit at times but when compared to some kilt makers is quite quick. As a Piper and Drum Major I am in a kilt three to four days a week; they do quite well. The object here is to wear the kilt, not if the the kilt is made absolutely according to the "auld" traditions, fo the reality is that all of those "auld" crofters would have killed for a kilt made quickly and readily as it would have afforded them protection from the elements as well as natural camouflage cover when hunting game or Englishmen. The average layman [read here as not being Irish or Scot] knows not the difference, could care less and will compliment you readily if they see a kilt smartly and proudly worn.
