Official plant badge of the semi-official XMarksTheScot clan, which is disorganized into smaller groups, societies, and rabbles. Natural dandelions wilt rather quickly, so plastic or silk replicas are preferred - except no one has found any yet - so any small yellow plastic flower suffices for wearing on the bonnet. Failure to wear the plant badge identifies you as a border reiver (cattle thief) so come well-armed (or well-heeled) to defend yourself - although most modern combatants accept beer tickets in lieu of swordplay.
