I made the jacket from Simplicity pattern #5029, and the waistcoat from McCall's pattern #2447.
Like when you buy a jar of storebought pizza sauce, you have to "doctor it up" to make it really edible. I did some alterations to both patterns to come up with the end result.

Could you explain what you did to "doctor it up"?
I have the Simplicity pattern, a different vest pattern and was about to start on my own jacket and vest when I saw your post.
I noticed the different epaulets and possibly the cuffs were different, but I can't be sure.
BTW. you should see how the Simplicity pattern says to make the kilt.
