When the games first were conceived they examined weather data since records were started and determined that the third weekend in October was historically least likely to get rained out.

Fine with me. 11 or one Saturday works fine, and 11 on Sunday for those who only come that day - Parade of Tartans and Massed Bands is at 1:00 on Sunday, and I'm on call for that, as should all you tartan-wearers be to support your clans.
