We must not forget those that are keen on tartan waistcoats too.

I love tartan waistcoats. Can't wait to get one made!
I'm just stuck between getting silk or wool
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Could you point me in the right direction so that I can study these pictures? I may not have seen them all.
I;ve seen a few posted on this site, and I've got a couple books- one on the tactics of the battle of Culloden, and one called Tartan: The Facts and Myths- where I've seen them. One was a painting of a Jacobite wearing a kilt of one tartan, and a jacket of another. The other that I've seen was in the Tartan book- it was pointed out that they were in fact two different variants of the same tartan. One was a kilt (of course) and the other, a day plaid.

One of the things that I like to do that makes the Kilt Police angry is to wear tartan flashes, tartan tie, black hose, white shirt- and a black Amerikilt. I personally think my Dress MacLeod accoutrements look awesome with the solid black. I want to get a Dress MacLeod waistcoat to go with that outfit. Of course, I’ll lose the tie in favor of a black or red one in that case… but that’s something that I personally really like.

I have the very same issue!
