I have had similar experiences, but not so blatant as that one.
I know it hurts though.
I once read a magazine article in which a well known teacher detailed how she had solved problems at an event she had held - except it was a fair report of a conversation I'd had with her a few weeks before publication, where I'd told her how well my students were doing....
Perhaps there will be a suitable backlash over this infringement, I certainly hope so.

The article is still there. What a rip-off! I can't imagine it will last more than 24 hours with all the comments, etc. You can always hope that this will actually lead to more sales of the book, but if the article stays up longer than 24 hours from now, I agree you should file suit against him, and EHow.
Be well,
Star

And this guy is making money off of this article through the Writer's Compensation Program!
Look:
"Q. How and when do I get paid? A. We will pay you through PayPal. As part of the Writer's Compensation Program signup you are asked to set up a personal account with PayPal or give us info to an existing account. We will deposit your monthly earnings into your personal PayPal account before the end of the following month. For more information on PayPal, visit www.paypal.com. It's free to signup.
If you earn less than $10 in a month, we will carry over that amount and pay you once your earnings exceed $10, or at year's end in the event you do not reach $10. Additionally, if you joined the Writer's Compensation Program after July 1 and your balance does not exceed $10 by year's end, then you will not receive payment until the next calendar year.
You can always see how much you've earned and when you're due for a payment My Earnings page.
Q. What is my payment based on? A. You get paid per article. Your article's earning potential can be based on a combination of several elements, including the amount of times it's been viewed and its category. The more useful your articles are to the reader, the more money you could make. Check out our tips and guidelines, like adding photos, and eHow's most-requested topics page for How To ideas.
Q. What is the pay range per article? A. Technically, there is no pay range per article. Simply put: The more useful your articles are to readers, the more money you could make. One good way to attract a larger audience and possibly make more money is by adding photos to your articles. Our tips and guidelines and eHow's most-requested topics page will help you get started."
Hopefully we caught this before he made a lot off of it. I don't know how long it's been up.
"Q. How soon will I get paid after I submit each article? A. All payments for work displayed on your My Earnings page during that month will be deposited into your personal PayPal account before the end of the following month. If you earn less than $10 over the year, you'll be paid via PayPal at year's end. Once you've joined eHow's Writer's Compensation Program, you can keep track of how much money you've earned by visiting your My Earnings page."
Barb, I would say that if he has made ANY money off of this you should take legal action against him regardless of how quickly the article is removed by either him or eHow.

It's 12:45 EST and the link from Barb's page appears to longer work. It defaults back tot eh Man's Clothing page.
Hopefully eHow have pulled the article.

Yep, if you search you can still find it (index not updated yet) but you cannot access the article.
Barb, by the way there is a date on the search entry - July 26th. 2009. I'd call my lawyer.
Good luck.
