I have a B&S casual and I like it very much. Their casuals are pleated to the random as opposed to the sett or stripe. Very comfortable, looks good, not afraid of damaging it due to the reasonable price.
Cheers,
Rick

I really like mine. It's excellent value. One thing that's different (at least on mine) it that the apron isn't tapered - it's rectangular. That may bother you or not. I get a lot of use out of mine.

That might be a function of the individual tartan. Bob's Leatherneck B&S casual is definitely pleated to the sett -- i just pulled it from the closet and double-checked.

My B&S Maple Leaf 16 oz casual is pleated to the sett, and well made, especially for the price. The detailing does not - could not - compare with that on my Keltoi box pleat; there's no canvas reinforcement or the like, and of course the stitching is visible. Still, it looks really good, and has gotten very favorable comments.

The only B&S Casual I've ever seen in person is my own, but it's definitely pleated to the sett. That may be something you can ask about when you order.

Josh: I have two 16oz B&S casual kilts (Highland Heritage and Weathered Buchanan) and a tank from Lochcarron (Buchanan Hunting Modern). At the recommendation of McMurdo I delved into B&S and have not looked back. Not wanting to threaten my tank with too much day-to-day wear, my B&S's were an affordable, very well made alternative. All the desired features are there and, as Matt N. recommends, the 16oz versions are wonderfully sturdy and airy. Being 4-yd kilts, the pleats will crease if you're not careful sliding into the car, but I've learned just a slight bit of caution (especially the pillow case trick!) during "the sweep" eliminates creasing entirely.
I HIGHLY recommend B&S casuals!!! I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

B&S Kilts
Have a B&S casual 16 oz. Lochcarron MacDonnell of Glengarry ( MacDonald with an overlay of large pattern white strips ). Like it very much and would back the 16 oz. vs. lighter weight. Use it as my main kilt as I prefer the lighter weight.

I do not have one, but was looking and saw the O'saffron, ended up having John (slohairt) @ Keltoi get the material and is making me a box pleat. B&S is the exclusive distributed for the O'Saffron.
