OK, I got a quote from D.C. Dalgliesh on my particular tartan at 8 yards and heavy weigh,t F1. Much higher price than what the kilt maker gets it for. I don't need to know anymore intricacies!

Hmm, yes! The problem with a small order is it's woven single-width; so you'd need 8 yards rather than 4 of double width. That is a handsome tartan, though.

At that point, many consider one of Matt's specialty 4-yard box pleated kilts.
