It was a short piece of silk cloth, some times fine woven gold, or silver ,perhaps two inches wide and perhaps about four inches long. It had a clip on one end for the watch and some sort of elaborate "thing" on the other that just hung out of your pocket. Imagine, if you will, something like a medal ribbon with the watch on one end and the ribbon and medal hanging from the pocket.
