Kilted evening at a Fundraiser.
Work has kept me away from the forum for a while. However it has not kept me away from my being kilted most of the time. Saturday the 13th of February, the Dropkick Murphys Ken Casey, Scruffy Wallace, and other celebrities Poured the drinks at McGreevey's Pub and Third Base Saloon. (Owned by Ken Casey and Scruffy Wallace).
The purpose was to raise money for the Claddagh Fund, whose charity is children in need. This event was for the orphans in Haiti.
The party was scheduled to start at 6:00 P.M. I entered to a packed pub and had to work to get a pint and a shepherd's pie. It did not take long for the lasses to notice the USA Kilts American Heritage Semi-trad.

One of the lasses that caught onto my pleats, selling tickets for the raffle.

Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys, and landlord of the Pub pouring drinks.

Three young lasses and an auld man in a kilt (me). The lasses are a part of the Boston Bruins ice Hockey team's cheerleaders.

Heidi Whatney, a local TV celebrity and I. One of the other lasses at the event is holding onto my pleats as the picture was taken. Ooops.

Another round of drinks prepared by the landlord and a celebrity of the evening.

The guests of Honour. The physicians and nurses of Boston's Childrens Hospital that had just returned from Haiti. These men and women volunteered the three weeks they spent there and used a large amount of their own funds to bring supplies with them to Haiti within days after the earthquake.
The fundraiser was very successful, and I did win one thing that evening, an evening with Ms. Whatney, two tickets to one of the sold out shows of the Dropkick Murphys in Boston with backstage passes.

Well done one and all and a special thank you to those doctors and nurses who have been at the "sharp end".

It's been a long strange ride so far and I'm not even halfway home yet.

Steve, I wish I could have been there! (of course!)
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
