Sir William and I met at the Fredericksburg Pub to celebrate the upcoming St. Andrew's Day. We both wore our new Burnett's & Struth casual kilts. Bill's tartan is Gunn modern and mine is Malcolm modern. These machine made kilts are an excellent value.

Since this post I've been giving the B&S a real workout and appreciate it more and more.

To pick up where Mael left off, I've also worn my casual B&S Gunn modern on several occasions since I received it. It is also getting a good workout and has proven to be one of my favorites (but then all my kilts are favorites).

For an all machine made kilt it is well made and looks good.

To be fair, I had some problems getting it ordered. I didn't quite understand the measurement process since it differed from other kilts I'd had made by other makers. I called but whoever I talked to wasn't too sure either, so I gave her the measurements according to the B&S instructions. I was supposed to get a follow-up e-mail to verify what I'd sent but a week went by and nothing. So I called again and talked to someone else who walked me through the measurements again. That was good as the original measurements, as instructed by the first person, were totally wrong and the kilt wouldn't have fit.

My kilt arrived in about 2 weeks later and fit perfectly.

During a visit to their shop with McMurdo last year we were told that the tartan selections change from time to time, so I keep checking to see if one of "my" tartans might show up. I don't really need another kilt but for the price it'd be hard to pass up the opportunity.

Thank you for informing us of the problems you incurred well ordering a kilt we will work on resolving this for future orders. We are pleased to hear one of customer service reps was able to assist you with your measurements and get you the perfect fit.

You are correct about tartans for casual kilts as they change usually seasonsally. Depends on which tartans we have in stock at the time. A post with stock levels will be up in the next couple weeks.
