The only real thought I have to offer on the subject is this- you can get a USA Kilts semitrad or two casuals, custom tailored for you in tartan, for only a few dollars more than one off the rack UK. You can almost get 2 Amerikilts for the cost of one UK. You can get a custom tailored Flamingo Kilt for a lot less than one off the rack UK. What's the selling point of the expensive off the rack Utilikilt again...?

I really like my Utilikilts. I have five of them. The only problem is that I as a European on top have to pay import taxes and 25% VAT.

    I add a few pics.

    Flamingo Kilts

Myself, for this type of kilt, I would go to our own XMarks sponsor, Flamingo Kilts. I have two, and they are very comfortable, and my wife, a former professional dressmaker, tells me they are VERY well constructed. The cost is a good bit less than Utilikilts, as well.

I love them! I just can't get into a trad in the summer. For me, too hot. A UK is just thebticket for keeping me cool. I have Utilikilt brand utility kilts and frankly have not had any bad experiences with the company at all. I have only bought 2 direct, however. Too expensive. Ebay is my friend.....

Utilikilts are great... I have 2 camo originals, 1 carhartt workman, 1 black workman, and one olive green original. I like the way they fit, and are comfy for any activity...I work in the house and yark in mine all the time. Next I would like to get a survival uk. i must say, i was at a scottish event the other day and it was really windy...the original is quite light weight and blows in the wind...mental note...wear a heavier weight (workman) in windy weather.

I wear my Utilikilt all the time. It is comfortable, makes a statement, and holy cow do the gals love it! They love a man in any kilt, but the UK is really easy to wear as an everyday garment. I highly recommend them.

Agreed....and everyone seems to recognize the UK by brand, but also as a kilt, despite what some around this joint think!
