I'm not sure what your budget will stand, but I'm pretty sure that you can get Robert Mackie to make one like you want. It won't be cheap, but it'll be a fair price.

I have one like you have from glengarry Hats, and I have the same complaint.

Ahh... the colour is fairly close (I like it too), I just wish it was a one-piece top. Otherwise I'd get one & trim it to suit my fancy.

As I have stated before, it's always best to purchase items from reputable establishments, that preferably, have been in the business for a while. I have looked at the 'Glengarryhats' website you mentioned several years ago, and always thought their products looked so cheaply made. You cannot go wrong with a Robert Mackie Balmoral. It is simply the best traditional Scottish headdress one can buy today! Like 'Scot' said, I am sure that Mackie can accomodate your details for the Balmoral you are looking for. Meantime, proceed as planned and send the 'beret' back! LOL! Contact Chris at Dunadd and get the ball rolling for your bespoke Balmoral, you wont regret it and you wont have to send it back!
