The friend I made this for just about had a heart attack when I gave it to him tonight. He couldn't stop playing with it, driving his wife to distraction. You all know how it is- we as artists are our own worst critics. There is always the fear that when we give someone a piece like this, that the recipient is going to see all the flaws and faults that we see. But Tom genuinely loved it! It's good to be appreciated.

Spoken like a true craftsman! I hate that feeling. My wife always gets on me about that sort of thing as well. And blast me if she isn't always right (but don't tell HER I said that, I'll never hear the end of it ).

FWIW- I think the piece is beautiful, and I'm glad it's recipient loved it. THAT is a feeling you can't buy.
