I know it sucks! I can't afford to make a road trip either.
That's it, my band is gonna play a cover that will blow Maiden's head off, that way they have to come down here!

Good plan! I had to drive to Albequerke or however the heck you spell it to see them on the Somehwere Back In Time Tour, so I know what you mean about the road trip thing. I also drove to Las Vegas for the Virtual World Tour show. What a pain!

Hey Nighthawk, I'm guessing that if you picked up a concert T-shirt, it was the one with the little green man on the back??? Right???
I got the one with the new album cover. I wanted an El Dorado one, but they were only in white. And actually, my wife is pictured wearing the shirt that I got. I was so stoked that they played almost all new material, too! I missed the A Matter Of Life And Death tour and was really happy that they played a few songs from that album.

Do they still put the symbol on the album somewhere, almost hidden?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

This one?

That is how Derek Riggs, the artist for everything up to Fear Of The Dark, signed all of his work. He hasn't done any Maiden album covers since 1990. so no. Not any more.

OK...I have the saddest Iron Maiden story EVER. When I was in Jr.High, Iron Maiden came to Atlanta for their Aces High tour. My friend and I concocted a typical juvenile scheme to fool the parents "I'm spending the night over there", while he told his parents "I'm spending the night with Josh". You get the picture. We paid my friends older brother to buy tickets and take us to the show and let us stay with him in his apartment. We mowed a LOT of lawns to get the money!!
So the night came, and we were soooo excited. EVERYTHING was going to plan. Neither of us had been to a concert, and I'm sure you can understand what 2 14 year olds were feeling! We get to the Omni in Atlanta and go ine...We were crazed with excitement-We felt sooo....rebellious. We both chipped in and bought a Iron Maiden black concert T of Eddie in his spitfire that we agreed to share-1 week me, 1 week him.
So the opening act plays. It was Ace Frehly from Kiss and his band outside kiss....he sucked and was booed off the stage after about 4 songs....no joke-26k people booing is quite a sound!
So we waited.....and waited....and waited....Chanting started and FINALLY one of the members came out on stage to announce that the lead singer had suffered blunt trauma about 30 minutes prior and that the concert was going to be cancelled and rescheduled. We were CRUSHED! It was almost a riot in the Omni..So much so that my friends brother really hustled us out as chairs were being ripped from their bolts and other projectiles began flying...
It was the worst...Just the worst. I never got a chance again to see Iron Maiden....
