Snapping: Top to bottom, left then right, just pressing against my torso/leg.
Unsnapping: Top right & down, top left & down.
It's almost automatic now. I suspect that if I pulled on some trousers, I'd stare blankly at the zipper for a few beats.
I know on my non-snap kilts, I tend to pull a little harder than necessary if I'm not paying attention...
