I'm glad my little man has a kilt too. It adds a new dimension to wearing one out in public as I'm not the centre of attention and I particularly like the idea that he may never know a time when the kilt is not a natural part of a man's wardrobe, his specifically. Since I plan to sew a kilt for myself soon I think it prudent to attempt a small size one with fewer yards and (relatively) inexpensive material first. The irony then is that my two year old will likely wear our clan tartan before I will!
