I've only been wearing the Kilt for five months, but my little boy, who is 4 1/2 was immediately fascinated.

I still don't wear it on a constant basis, we're in a pretty conservative suburb, and my wife is still a touch worried about 'what the neighbors will think' (although not in those words, it's more like, 'what my son's classmates parents will think)

Last week my wife was away for a few days, so I decided that my son and I were going to have a few special father & son days. On one of them we went to the zoo, which has a 12" gauge railroad running through it. I always ask what he wants to wear, because it's usually train related, but can vary.

He said "I'll wear my engineer's shorts, and YOU can wear a kilt."
So I said "You want me to wear a kilt to the zoo?!?" (it was almost 90*f)
He said "Yes... the red one" (Wallace)

Then he changed his mind about what he was going to wear, and dressed in colours to match me in my kilt.

As some of you probably know, I've been making a few sporrans lately. Well, he's also been making sporrans out of EVERYTHING, legos, paper, etc.

The other funny thing is every time the mail comes he asks "Did my kilt come today?" because my wife (who is a good portion Scots-Irish) finally caved after our local Highland games and agreed that he'd look darling in a kilt.

I just pulled the trigger on a Stillwater 'Irish National' kilt for the little monkey. He's going to go mental when it arrives- and from what I've heard of Jerry's service, it probably got here yesterday

Oddly enough, HE'S already put his order in for a fur sporran as well (based on one he saw at the highland games) I guess he takes after his mother, who already has 3 bags 'on order' when I have a chance to make them.ith:
