Well, I like it Steve. This one and the McMurdo Mk2 are my favorites, so far...

Lots of thoughts abound and so far none meet my idea of what a club tie should look like------all too fussy. For what it is worth, how about broad stripes of yellow and dark blue on the proportions of say, the "Guards" tie? You know, it is really not necessary to include all the colours.

The McMurdo MkIII or Jock's suggestion of broad yellow/blue stripes would be far closer to the real thing.

Well, while true that some of the suggestions put forth would not fit in the true "Club Tie" catagory, there is no rule that says we must have a Club Tie. We can have anything we choose.
I was also thinking of a plain or solid tie in a dark blue with small X Marks Cap Badges woven in. Most in a matching color and perhaps one in a dark silver.

But given that club ties are worn with Highland attire, it is certainly the most appropriate form for an Xmarks tie.

Steve is quite right we can have any style of tie we like, but to my mind as we are wearing Highland attire a "club style tie" would seem appropriate, particularly when Xmarks has its own tartan, constitution and rules, then when all things are considered, well, we are a club.

Sort of like "B" below?

The other issue that might want to be addressed is the cut of the tie.
Most ties in the US today seem to be cut wider than the cut we see Jock and a few others Scots/UK board members sporting.
Assuming we can decide on an design, do we have the ties cut 'standard' US,
or go with the more Scots/British cut of club tie?

Well, for me we are getting there. I think the stripes ought to fall the other way, so it is not confused with the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment and can we go a couple of shades darker with the blue? "Modern" colours.

?

It is important to remember that screen colours can vary WILDLY depending on your monitor setting and screen type. This blue is VERY dark on my monitor. Basically a midnight blue.

Ok I understand that, but on my screen it is quite a light blue, so without assuming anything, I would specify very dark blue on the instructions. I would also go for "B" but "A" would do. The trouble is, I am not the "committee of one"!
