Go with the muted Sutherland!
BM, I know you are talking about Graeme at Arizona Kilts and I was just in his shop yesterday. I've seen the muted Sutherlands you are talking about in person and they are great! You can't beat the quality or the price (I don't think you will ever find a top quality kilt at his prices). You would never know they were ex-rentals.
Thankfully Graeme doesn't have any more kilts in my size and that has saved me a bullet hole. A bullet hole, you say? Yes, because my wife would shoot me if I bought another kilt!
