To make it clear what I'm asking for, I'm talking about top shelf quality here. I'm not looking for a $40 shirt. I'm more than willing to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 for the appropriate quality. Every tux shirt I've bought before this was almost see thru fabric in the sleeves...cheap cotton in my opinion...and they shrunk and were unwearable after 2 events. I have looked at Brooks Brothers and, while they may sell quality goods, I think that their prices reflect a bit too much about the name and don't have as much to do with the quality. I'm not saying they sell crap...but I think their shirts are probably a $70 shirt with a $135 price tag. Same with their tie and cummerbund choices.
I believe that it was MoR that recently shared his favorite source for shirts...but it was UK based. Anybody have anything good here stateside?
Check out J. Press and Ben Silver. Both top quality; the latter quite pricey.

A Ben Silver shirt will probably run well over $200!
Try:
Jos. A. Bank,
Suit Yourself,
ExecStyle,
Paul Stuart,
Hansen's Clothing,
Direct Clothiers,
David's Formalwear,
Hickey Freeman,
Ralph Lauren...
Yes I just went through this, and have done a bit of research. Good luck.

Yeah...no kidding...$225! Are they hand sewing it with perfect hand stitches made of the highest quality silk thread on the market??? I don't think Ben Silver will be on my shopping list...however J. Press seems to have decent prices. Thanks for the recommendation Sandy.

Thanks for the list...any dealings with any of these companies?
I found this in my searching for a shirt. I think it's a front runner at the moment. The thing I like about it...100% Made in the USA. I'm always skeptical when items say "imported".
