While I certainly would not say "No thanks", I have found the kilt to be less comfortable than I had origanally expected. I attribute this to the fact that I do not have a bespoke kilt, and both kilts I have seem to want to slide down as I wear them.
Once they start to reach my knee I become frustrated with pulling them back up. Added to that is the fact that I am used to wearing pants with a low waist, so pulling the top of a slightly too long kilt up to my ribbs seems awkward.
When I wear a sweater, I use suspenders to hold the kilt up and it works better, but then I cannot take off the sweater if I get hot.
I guess the answer is to spring for a properly fitted kilt.
