That's a neat idea, Skauwt. I never got around to attempting to make a ceramic cantle, but I would think the low fire ceramics would be better for that type of thing: less warping and running glaze etc.
Hope your future pieces turn out well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
