We have a rather modest 7.5 foot table on layaway for Christmas that will adorn our basement and this year my son and I plan to turn our own cues using tiger and birds eye maple. We'll see how that turns out!

I noticed the same thing! We have already picked up the maple for the bottom half and still need thinner for the upper portions. I hope we'll start turning them after the new year. By all means I'll keep you updated!
