I've been gone for a while, so I'm not quite following what you mean about rediscovering the original jacket...
Joe: I'd still be interested, without a doubt.

You'll find my paper on the original coat here www.scottishtartans.co.uk/research.htm

I'm guessing the actual run would look more like this* than the images in the previous thread, yes? A very exciting project guys.

If this is going to be a single width run, I'm down for 4 yards absolutely!

Yes, something more akin to this.

I'm currently working on a short mediumwight run mathed to the original count and sett size and in-the-grease which is the nearest to hard tartan that one can get nowadays.
A number of people have contacted me regarding a heavy weight run so single or double would depend on the economics. I guess more people would be interested in a kilt weight so I'm inclinded towards double width.

I would rather have it in a heavy weight wool (16oz)
how soon will you be able to get a run started?

It's here
I was about to ask whether anyone had reported receiving their fabric. When I got home this evening, there was a parcel stuffed into my mailbox.

The adjacent fabric is Lochcarron's ancient colors.
