Found an 1890's reference for making made to measure breeches:

    http://www.costumes.org/history/vict...ges/03_081.htm

Perhaps a variation on those might be more suited to your needs?

If you are looking for a 'pre-crafted' pattern:

Evadress has a pattern for Men's Golfing Knickers from the 1920's:

    http://www.evadress.com/3906.html

And a reference for Boy's Knickers here:

    http://www.evadress.com/1141.html

    Best wishes!

The 1890's referens is just great! All those examples for knee bands and other details. I have pamflets like that on hosiary that I've used for knitting socks on my machines.

And I WILL order the golfing knickers, no matter what! They look like an interesting project. Thank you!

Thank you paulhenry, most useful. Fun this. I havn't been sewing for years. But yesterday I went to Linköping with a mission. To look for fabrics. Didn't find what I was looking for. But I found a whole loot of other fabrics and finally got a reason to ask about fixing my old tailors steam iron.
