The jacket and kilt co-ordinate much better and the neckwear is period-looking (unlike a lace jabot).

The sporran is still anachronistic. 1860s sporrans were usually goathair, and the style of the period was for the bottom to end in a somewhat scraggly way. Cutting a horsehair sporran straight across the bottom (as seen above) didn't come into fashion until the late 20th century.

Here's the sporran I usually wear. The body would be quite period-looking however the cast cantle is somewhat anachronistic.



Here's a period-looking cantle, seen on the upper right. Were I to attend a Civil War type function in Highland Dress I would stick the cantle on the upper right onto the goat sporran body and Bob's Your Uncle! It would look like it was right out of the 1860s.
