I remember spending hours on a pen & ink drawing, "messing up" (only I could see it), and unceremoniously tossing it in the garbage. A short moment later I'd see one of my friends digging it out. I'd ask "what are you doing?"
They thought it was great, but I wasn't happy, I still thought it belonged in the garbage!
We are our own worst critics.
