Lets see £29.95 per Sq ft = £1.2 million per acer approx. The only conservation that is done by them is to their Bank Balance.
Not sure how my post implied a defense of the folks who sell stuff like that, It certainly is not. It was more of a comment about how some folks on this forum tend to react to anything on these subjects.
But I would hope that the folks that buy that into it don't take it seriously! I'm sure some do, but it's probably too late to help them!
As has been observed, most folks take this idea as tongue in cheek, and are pretty unlikely to ever visit their "property", or try to assert their 'privilege' !
People spend more money on dumber stuff than that every day, and I can't see making a big deal out of it, unless one just resents others having a laugh, or making a buck.

No No, I wasent saying you were defending them at all!
Some folks may well take it as tongue in cheek, however as a Scot I find it pretty degrading & insulting to our history & heritage not to mention what little title system we have left in Scotland. That's the problem with this scam, most people think its harmless.

I am with you one hundred percent on this and the far more important task of "outing" the more serious bogus title holders too, but I will have no truck with this cloak and dagger idea that appears to be the style of the "goodies" on the website mentioned above.
Alright, openly discussing tactics and strategy is a distinctly unwise course to take, but we are not talking MI5 here and not openly declaring who is involved is to my mind, unacceptable and lays the whole idea open to justified criticism.
For me, I shall continue just openly laughing at these poor deluded souls, most of whom appear, to me at least, to pick some damn stupid titles!!
On a lighter note, I did the sum too and I can think of one or two acres that would fit the bill a treat!

I can understand John's hesitation to reveal the names of the designers; a number of years ago, an Irish genealogist was physically threatened by the followers of a known pretender for his work in revealing the latter's fake pedigree.

I fear the decision to allow the legal sale of feudal baronies has only made the sale of fake titles are the more easy to perpetrate on innocents.

Let me make it very plain here, that I am not talking about, or including, those that have bought a square yard of the Highlands for a bit of fun in the following:-
Yes I understand John's reasoning too and whilst physical threats are an extreme reaction from an inadequate person to having his vanity pricked, it is the risk that any one takes when treading on sensitive toes. And when all said and done, this new website is all about deliberately treading on the very sensitive toes of inadequates!

Point well taken, Jock. I really don't have a feeling one way or the other on the author's identification -- or lack thereof. Just offering an observation.
