    ABSOLUTELY DO THIS.

But since the wife scoffs at the kilt to begin with, you gotta play it cool. Maybe watch select scenes of Braveheart one night... then maybe some Rob Roy another night. In my encounters, women tend to enjoy mid-90s Mel Gibson before he went completely crazy, and Liam Neeson kilted. Couple that all with some wine, a nice evening, what woman wouldn't want a kilted adventurer to come home one night?! A woman not worth knowing... that's what kind.

It was never my intention to step on toes or ruffle feathers. Sorry to any and all that I may have irked! And I understand the wee bit sensitive thing...I can be there myself.

Yeah...y'know...I guess that works for some but it just never gets dark enough around here for me to be mistaken for Mel or Liam...never seems to be enough wine in the bottle for that to happen, either...

That's what they make BOXES of wine for.

And if that doesn't work, you can always entertain yourself by doing this with the horrible wine.

    Yes!

If you want to be really evil (evil = ), let her have the impression it's going to be a sort of interactive cultural-education experience, beginning with a whisky-tasting: Sampling some decent Highland, Speyside, & Islay malts before getting into the videos.

    And while watching.

Things will pretty well take care of themselves from that point.

Was out with my wife the other day, wearing my new navy digital, a young lady paused to ask if I were scottish....my wife pipes up, "nahh...he's just comfortable."

The young lady was quite attractive, for the record...

...why? Who would even think to microwave a box of wine for 5 minutes? What weird things go through people's minds?

My experience as well. Ironic, considering that I was kilted when we first met. She now thinks I wear a kilt too often and I'm "showing off" though except for wearing it to work once or twice a month, I'm usually attending some kind of event where a kilt is appropriate (Celtic music concert, whisky tasting, our local "British" pub, etc).

My wife DOES scoff and roll her eyes.

However, it's not in response to the kilt -- it's ME in the kilt. I'm Italian / German. She STRONGLY feels that only Scottish men should wear kilts. She's partly Scottish / Irish and feels this entitles her to an opinion on the matter.

My logical, clear, and reasonable response was, "Are only baseball players allowed to wear baseball hats? Does one have to actually be a cowboy to wear a cowboy hat?"

I thought my logic was devastating ... She rolled her eyes almost out of her head and sighed deeply.

My 7-year-old daughter asked if I was "borrowing Mommy's skirt". My 4-year-old son keeps trying to look under it. Oh well...
