The one I have has a magnetic closure, which is way less of a pain in the a$$ than a snap or laces. I open it and rumage through it's fairly cavernous interior with one hand all the time. Half the time the catch doesn't actually catch, but that big ol' medallion on the flap is so heavy that it doesn't really matter. You could probably remove the catch and it would still be secure enough for anything except bungy jumping...which I'm not sure if one should do kilted anyway.

Well, I might, but...
Of my sporrans it's my favorite. IMHO they're nice enough for jacket-and-tie(but not formal), but work well with casual attire too. It's definitely become my go-to sporran, and gets my 5-Star Seal of Approval.
The Nightstalker is pretty cool too. It's next on my list for hiking and such, but it's pretty casual in my mind.
Plus one on the Buzz Kidders, I have two. The soft leather and magnetic clasp make for easy one hand operation. I have a leather SWK Nightstalker as well, it's my go-to for casual, but usually I run the Kidders for anything above that.
