Kiltmaker near Hilton Head S.C.
My nephew is getting ready to make his first kilt purchase. We're up in New England but he lives near Hilton Head S.C. I'm wondering if anyone knows any good (reasonable) kilt makers down that way he could contact.

...I could swear that I went in a Scottish shop (that sold kilts) right near there, like 10-12 years ago. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it, exactly where it is, or if it's still there.
Anyone know of the place I'm thinking about?

Matt is not that far
Brother Newsome is only about 3-4 hours away and might travel for the day...Or your nephew might- when it gets hot, many people leave the coast for the NC mountains...
Some take the high road and some take the low road. Who's in the gutter? MacLowlife

When Alice and I return to Charleston, I would HAPPILY drive up to the Scottish Tartans Museum for a day/weekend to get a kilt made. I don't even have one, but they are beautiful.
I would recommend the trip or a phone call. Better than taking a risk on an unknown supplier. Assuming there is even anyone in Hilton Head anyway.

Are you looking for a kilt MAKER or a kilt RETAILER? Matt Newsome at the Tartan Museum is probably the closest kilt maker.

At the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, let's make that more like 6 hours.

350 miles, mostly interstate?
OK, maybe four and a half, because of the mountains.

Check out J Byous kilts across the river in Savannah. Been in business quite a while. http://www.jbyous.com/jbyouskilts.html
