Here are photo's of my kilt outfits, this when I first got them. I was given the 2 complete kilt and jackets, I have since altered the kilts so thing fit better, the person who had these before me was taller. My wife is great with most of what I have done and we have had 44 great years. I was just venting, disappointed and not sure what I will do, but getting a new wife is not in the picture, because other than this she has been the greatest thing in my life.

I agree with the above suggestions. Wearing traditional Highland accessories all the time tends to make one look like he is wearing a costume. Try wearing normal clothing items with your kilt. Look more American and less Scottish.

Like maybe throw on a cowboy hat or some aviator glasses? Maybe some flip-flops! Haha. We Americans sure are a non-sensible group, aye?

I hope I misunderstood the sarcasm and it was not directed in a mean way. I never said, "look more american less scottish". Placing that in the quote area of the post is dishonest. I'm not mad, just saying.
I merely suggested a slighty less "dressy" option that would help ease folks into the idea of him in a kilt. The full white hose, bonnet, and argyll jacket approach is just too much for some people's initial introduction and it reminds them of cliches and pipe bands though we know better. After a little bit he can introduce other items into daily wear and as they are slowly added around the wife she may have more of a chance to get used to it. That was all I was getting at. Worked for me, just a suggestion.

Nothing wrong with wearing sunglasses at outdor events such as Highland Games and whatnot. My trusty classic Ray-Ban Aviators accompany me to many an event. You can't get much more classic than Ray-Bans.
