Mom gets credit for his looks. He got the bad-boy behavior and rambunctious personality from me. My grey hairs came from him.

Amazing work for certain. Puts all the baby kilts I've seen for sale to shame. Add onto that getting an 18 month old to cooperate for that many pictures. After seeing some of the work the other members on here have done I may shock my family and slip a sewing machine onto my Christmas list this year.
Once you get a belt on him to prevent his attempts at going regimental you'll have one well dressed lad. Good luck on the search for some hose.

Thanks. I probably took 60-70 pictures and those were the only good ones. He doesn't stay still...ever. I have a feeling that hose might be a tough find, but I'll concoct something if needed. I found some black tights that might work if I cut them down and roll the tops and put in a few stitches to hold it. Hopefully something better presents itself in the next two days so I can have a real Plan A.
Most definitely add a sewing machine to your list but don't wait until Christmas. Think of all the cool stuff you can do between now and then!!
My neighbor was teasing me about sewing--all in good nature--and I just reminded him that it's like my welder...it's a tool I know how to use but he doesn't.
Luckily, my wife is an art teacher so I get some cool freebies. She's bringing me an inkle loom tonight that the school is pitching out along with a bunch of weaving yarn. I've been wanting one for a while to make garter ties, flashes, etc. I might try card weaving too. I figure that if I can add a new skill to my list it's worth it! Go for the sewing machine...soon.

Allen, he's adorable! You did a great job and he seems to like it as much as we do.
Maybe we need a forum here for kids in kilts. This thread and the one by Forrester Modern about the kilt he had made for Carter could be the first threads in it.
Have you let Barb T. know about this project? I'm guessing she'd be interested in what you've done here.
Regards,
Brian

The kid forum is an excellent idea! Besides giving us a place to show of our biggest pride and joy it would be good to be able to find info on stuff for the little guys without wading through the sea of stuff for us big guys.
As for letting Barb know I hadn't really though of it. It kinda seems like trying to impress Yoda with a card trick, but her book did guide me on this and several other projects.

A friend of mine made her kilt using TAOKM and she communicated with Barb throughout the process and got very positive responses. When Longhuntr made a kilt for a friend Barb was very complimentary about what he did. I really think she'd love to hear from you. From those two examples alone I think she enjoys hearing/seeing how people benefit from her book.
BTW, have you looked at Forrester Modern's thread about the kilt Kathy Lare made for Carter? If you haven't, read the OP, it might give you some ideas for when Miles is older so you can make a kilt you can adjust in size as he gets older. If you're going to put in that much time and effort he might as well get a long use out of it.
Regards,
Brian
